Save the Date

Parker has chosen the 27th of February to be baptized at 5pm at the Moab Stake Center. I can’t believe that I have a child old enough to be baptized. Some days it seems like he is just a little kid and some days it seems like he should be the parent. Oh what would we do without him?

Another special date for Parker is February 20th this is his Moab Wrestling Tournament. We would love for everyone to come and cheer him on. I don't know the time yet but will let everyone know.

I loved how he cared so much about the program, and even helped me write down everyone’s name so he could call them on the phone and ask them to do things. He was so excited that he called Aunt Cassie without me knowing and left her a very vague message, but he got it all done.

I also loved that he made a special call to his Dad to ask him to baptize him. I wish I had been videoing it, but how was I to know what a special conversation that would be. How I love those two boys! I am crying just writing this, what a cry baby this whole Mom thing has turned me into. I am so proud of Parker for choosing to be baptized. What a little man he is growing up to be. I am also so proud of my husband for being such a great Dad, and holding the Priesthood so that he is able to baptize Parker.

I love my family!
PS – One last thing I want to add really quickly. Someone was telling me how lucky I am to have such a great life. I am not lucky I am BLESSED! Jeremy and I have lived our life so that we have a support system around us. We work hard to live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. No, we are not perfect, but we try and strive everyday to live the best we can, and that is what I want to teach my children. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has blessed our lives, and helps us to strive to be better people. I love that the church helps me to raise my children, and teaches me how to treat my spouse. I love the gospel and we are so blessed to have it in our life. My Secret Weapon....

Miss Payton is a lot like her Daddy. How? You may ask.
  • Well they are both stubborn as all get out.
  • They both like to eat, and seriously have the best metabolism ever.
  • They have the world's funkiest hair, crazy!!!!  How many cowlicks can one head have?
  • They are both moody!!! Yep I said it. MOOODDDY.
But alas I love them both, and now onto the one thing that Payton and I share.  We both need sleep and lots of it.  Miss Payton takes it a step further though. She needs beauty sleep, niceness sleep, and more sleep, and since the word NAP is a bad word at our house  I say something different instead.
Miss Payton will be laying on the floor moaning, and rolling around. (I know she is 5 but she is still my baby).
Momma - "Miss Payton I think that your room needs a little work."
Payton- "I cleaned it yesterday while I was playing in Parkers room."
Momma- "Huh?"  "Well let's go double check it."
Payton- "Okay, okay I am going.  (Usually the crying starts now.)
She heads to her room which really does need cleaning, and I usually don't hear another word for about an hour.  Lovely just plain lovely!  And sometimes she even wakes up nice, but just sometimes.
So my secret weapon is go clean your room and the kid is out like a light, sometimes it does backfire like when I told her to clean her room last week at 5:30 and then she woke up at 7:30 grumpy and hungry and didn't want to go to bed for the night.  The other nice thing about my secret weapon is it works on my grumpy husband too.  Just  nicely ask him to help you with something and he is out like a light.  Wish it would work on Parker, but that kid barely sleeps at night, so I don't want to waste any sleep in the day.

Now if I could just figure out how to get her to clean her room.

My Most fequently asked question (securing pictures on blog)

My most frequently asked question is "Is Jer on Ice Road Truckers?" and the answer is no, but keep watching!

No really I am constantly asked about disabling the right click on my blog.
Here is the site that I used to get the hack. Click Here (Disclaimer:  Blogger kept stripping my HTML so if you want to see wxactly what I am talking about e-mail me and I will send you the word document that I made.)
On this blog it talks about watermarking your photos, and if I took decent photos I would consider that, but all I want to do is keep people from copying our family photos, so I find this a waste of time. So I have disabled the right click, but then blogger did this great thing that you could just click on the picture and it would take you to an outside page where you could steal the photo. So I don't want blogger to open another page, so here is what you have to do.
At the top of your formatting box are two tabs Edit HTML & Compose. I usually use the Compose tab, but when I want to remove the option for blogger to open another window I click on Edit HTML.
Click on the Edit HTML and go and find the name of your picture, highlight and delete.

The Patch

Funny e-mail I got from my sister-in-law Tonya, Thanks for sharing this is great.

The other day I needed to go to the emergency room. Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put on my old Army fatigues and stuck a patch onto the front of my shirt that I had downloaded off the Internet.
When I went into the E.R., I noticed that 3/4 of the people got up and left. I guess they decided that they weren't that sick after all. Cut at least 3 hours off my waiting time.

Here's the patch. Feel free to use it the next time you're in need of quicker emergency service.

It also works at DMV. It saved me 5 hours.

At the Laundromat, three minutes after entering, I had my choice of any machine most still running.

Don't try it at McDonald's though....

The whole crew got up and left and l never got my order...

HaPpY 2010!!!!

Happy New Years everyone.  I hope everyone partied like rockstars last night, I know that my family did.  We went to the grocery store and each picked out our favorite snack.
Here's Parker's

Here's Payton's

Here's Jer's

ewww!!! Stinky
Here's mine:
and
I'm the Mom so I can have two!  Plus Jer helped me with mine.
We ordered pizza too and picked up some movies.  We watched G-force first and then got the kids to bed by 9.  I know early, but really Miss Payton needs her beauty rest, or life gets real ugly around here.
No pictures because someone washed one camera, and someone left the other at Mom's house.  Oh well maybe next year.
