Beautiful Heartbreak

I had an awesome time at Time Out For Women in St George.  I went with four FABULOUS friends and my heart was so full.  Loved this special video that Hilary Weeks made, and it was so touching.  If you would like to share your Beautiful Heartbreak I would love to hear it.

Please Help Me!!! Comments/constructive critisim welcome

So I went to Time Out For Women in St George with my girl friends, and we had a wonderful time.  We heard wonderful speakers, and listened to wonderful music.  But the thing that caught my attention the most was on speaker talking about juggling plates.  She said the thing is, soon all those plates are going to come crashing down.  Well they did and it hurt, and it still hurts.  My question is what do I drop?  Sometimes I joke with Jer that I can either be a great wife, or a good Mother.  An awesome cook who prepares 3 square meals a day (plus fun and delicious snacks) or I can have a clean house.  But put these things all on the table and I can't even pull off mediocre.  So here's the list:
  • Dance (have to drive to Monticello)
  • Work (have to drive to Moab, but I love my job and it keeps me sane)
  • Football (in Monticello, ps this is where Brother LaRose the seminary teacher is the coach.)

When our Cabin had a Sun Roof

Every year my Dad has a terrible time with the stovepipe on the cabin.  The snow sweeps it right of the cabin.  It use to just take the stove pipe, but then my Dad had a better chimney jack made, but Mother Nature said take that and ripped the new chimney jack completly off the roof and left our cabin open to the elements.  Leaving us with this lovely sun roof, well not really we had to cut the roof open wider to fix it.  At least he tied himself off, but I 'm glad that Jer wasn't there he would have had a fit!  Everytime we would hear something hit the ground we would all cringe and pick someone to go check to see what had fallen.  Nathan and Dad rigged up a new heavy duty chimney jack, I hope that Mother Nature likes it and dosen't rip half the cabin off this year.

I am the Luckiest Girl in the World! (I know cause my cowboy is a world away!)

So my Birthday is tomorrow, and I kind of stink at the whole Birthday thing.  I don't like people to acknowledge it, not that I care about getting older, I just really don't like to have Birthdays.  But I did marry the sweetest person in the world, and he is so super sweet to me.  He is a day ahead of me Dubai and is so nice to make sure and let me know that it is already my Birthday there so he wants to wish me Happy Birthday, and make sure that I have a great day.  So sweet.
He is also so sweet because he already got me some super cool gifts
  • A trip to St. George for TIME OUT FOR WOMEN with my La Sal Ladies, and he even let us use his fancy Motel points.
  • PB Bedding that I found at Down East Outfitters for less than half the sale price.  LOVE IT!!!

  • Knee High boots that are going to be delivered by George our Brown Guy tomorrow! (If you don't have a George you are so missing out he is so great!)

Any way I just wanted Jer to know how much I love him and how he makes my days better, I am so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man.  He makes all those years that I have racked up not  seem so bad!!!J?K I am like good wine and get better with time.
Totally rambling going to bed now

That's Right I have very own Personal Photographer!

So Thankful for my super friend Katie, if it wasn't for her I would only have 2 out of focus pictures of the whole season.  Which Parker wants everyone to know that they are undefeated!!!!  We played the 2 Moab teams twice, and the 2 Blanding teams twice, and were rarely scored on.  The weather was mostly good, we did get rained out in Blanding and had one snowy night in Monticello that I tried to get Greg to call, come on they hadn't even gotten near our goal at night.  I only had to sing "Love at Home" once, which Jer promptly shut me up.  I was also going to bribe Parker $5 to tackle someone, but Jer assures me that next year he will have more fire!  Well I am holding him to that or I am going to start offering Lego guys for tackles.  (Then the other team won't have a chance!)  Loved watching the kids play, but also loved when the season was over so I could quit my daily drives to Monticello.

PS  Huge shout out to our wonderful coach  Randy LaRose.  I love his coaching style, especially after hearing the yelling from the other teams coaches.  The things that you would hear from our sidelines were:  Honor, Integrity, etc....  He made me want to be a better player, person, and parent!

Parker Wrestling

Here is Parker wrestling a girl, a really good girl!  She has kicked his butt a number of times, and I would like to kick her parents butts for letting her wrestle.  At what age is it okay for a boy and girl to touch each other that way.  I am all for girl power, but I also want to teach my son to keep his hands of girls for at least a few more years!

Happy Kid that could care less who he wrestles as long as his Mom brings enough money for the concession stand.

Funny Story

Miss Payton can keep us all rolling on the floor with all the goofy stuff she does.  This is at the La Sal Christmas Program in which our whole community comes out for a good show!  Things you need to know:  I can snap my fingers really loud to get my kids attention, Payton has to pee all the time, and I can't stand out of control kids!!!

So I invited my parents and sister Megan and her husband Andrew to come to La Sal for dinner and then to the La Sal Community center to watch my kids Christmas Program.  Jer was late getting home and I barely got the steaks thawed in time.  We ate super quick and headed to the CC.  It was already packed and very noisy.  All the kids are suppose to be sitting in chairs against the back wall, but most of them were running and jumping, screaming and yelling.  So I started talking to all the kids and walking back and forth trying to keep them entertained until the program started.  As I was walking back and forth I was asking the kids if they needed to go to the bathroom.  So then the program starts and I go and sit down.  The kids start to sing and walk down the middle aisle to the front to go onto the stage.  There is Parker in his cowboy hat of course, and right in front is Payton.

Payton starting to squirm!
Payton sitting down with her famous leg shaking!

It took me quite a while, but I finally figured out that she had to go to the bathroom.  So I snapped my fingers and pointed her off stage to go to the bathroom.  She ran off the stage went potty and came back like nothing had happened.  Such a goof ball!!!  I was laughing so hard I dropped my camera on the floor and broke it, but it was so worth the laugh.  Oh man what are we going to do with this kid???  Anyway everyone at the program got a good laugh, and that's what we are here for right!?!?!

Fun Summer

Jer Ear Tagging a Calf for Redd Ranches.  Notice the Momma getting ready to eat him, and notice how nicely Red Roman is standing.
Putting the headstone in Lula Mae Titus, it is so pretty and matched her personality so well.
Playing in the mud at Indian Creek
I think Parker is bossing everyone in this picture.  I told him to knock it off or I would start calling hime foreman, but I think he likes that.

Offshore Drilling Frustration

While researching offshore drilling in Brazil this is what I found.
Wall Steet Journal
Fox News

We need to give other countries money so that they can drill for oil that we can then buy from them (drilled offshore in conditions probably less safe for the environment than what would happen here in the United States, no less).

3,461 miles to go on a Date!

3,461 miles to go on a Date!,  and that was just one way!
Jer has been working in Alaska on a the liberty project, but we knew that it was time to look for a new job. One of his coworkers told him about a company that was hiring for off shore drilling in Brazil. Yahoo I think Brazil! I would love to go to Brazil! I would love to take my family to Brazil, yeehaw we are going to Brazil.
I know I am a little ahead of myself, but when am I not?
So Jer puts in for the job and the the HR person calls him and asks for more info.  Jer e-mails him everything and then we don't hear from him again, so we chalk this one up as a lost cause.  No worries he still has his job with Parker.  Then as we get to the end of the hitch around the end of May the HR person calls back and wants Jer to come interview for the job in Houston, TX.  He will only be in the office for a few days due to the fact that he is in the Army Reserves and he will be going to training for  40 days.  So I book Jer a flight, and then I a get to thinking that if Jer gets hired I won't get to see him for a long time.  (I totally did not take into account that he would need a visa!)  Oh well if Jer was going to to Houston then I wanted to go too.  So I started looking at flights and couldn't find a decently priced one into Houston so I was just going to chill and wait (I KNOW SO NOT LIKE ME!)  Well then Jer said really why don't you come and I was thinking of ways to get there.  My friend Jenny was so awesome and took my children off my hands.  I booked a flight with Southwest that went from SLC to Las Vegas to Houston, landing at a different airport then Jer.  So Jer flies from Prudhoe Bay, AK to Anchorage, sleeps on the floor of the airport for a few hours and then takes his favorite flight ever - the red eye from Anchorage to SLC. I came to the SLC airport to pick Jer up.  We made the mistake of leaving the SLC airport (remember this it is important.)  Then it was back to the SLC airport for our flights to Houston.  I had my flight all over the country and Jer had a direct flight to Houston.  So he landed first and got the rental car and then came to the other airport to pick me up.  Easy enough right!  Not when your navigation on your phone won't work. Jer did so awesome and made it from one airport to the other but not without getting stuck in traffic and having to deal with some really slow people.  I was sitting in a rocking chair waiting for him, so no complaints from me.  We then went to our motel room where we were just going to order pizza and go straight to bed, but the pizza places phone wouldn't work and the Internet in the room wouldn't work. I tried to call the front desk to get some help and ended up calling  some random guys room.  I was asking him about the Internet and asked him if he could reset the modem or something, and he informed me that I had called his room.  I was so embarrassed.  We finally got some food ordered, but Jer was really tired by then and I couldn't get him to eat much.  The next morning he got up really early and headed to the corp office.  He was there before they even unlocked the building (Why are we always late to church then?)  I was going to go back to sleep, but one of my favorite qualities is that I stress for other people  (so don't stress about stuff!  I am already!)  So no sleep I sat and stressed which turned out to be a good thing, because Jer kept texting questions that he needed help answering (like where we live and when he was born!)  He had to do medical testing and drug testing.  So I headed down to the pool for some swimming and sunbathing.  NICE  I haven't been able to chill out like that for a long time.  After a LONG time Jer sent me a text and it says "MIDDLE EAST"  that's it just "Middle East" no explanation no nothing.  So I am trying to be a good sport and I am pretending that he is joking.  I just keep sitting outside playing in the pool and sunbathing and then Jer shows up.  He has gotten the job, but he is not going to Brazil, the HR person (who has never drilled a day in life!) said that the Middle East would be a better fit.
Good bye Brazil :(
Well at least he has job!  Then the best part was he asked me out on a date!  He wanted to take me down to Galveston to look around and get some dinner.  It was so nice just the two of riding in the car (Skipping toll booths right and left!  Don't worry we will pay for this later!)
I loved, Love, LOVED Galveston.  Loved the old houses and the historical district.  One of my favorite things about it was that it looked wind swept like all the bad stuff in life can just get swept off the island and out to sea.  We drove around just looking and then found this great place to walk around, called Pier 21.  It was so fun, and hot and humid!  We decided to walk down and look at all the fishing boats and I was looking into the water and I saw a dolphin.  I was so excited!, how often does a desert girl get to see a dolphin?  We went to a restaurant called Willie G's where we sat outside, because it was evening and it would only get cooler right?
This was our table
This was our view, watching dolphins and pelicans as the sun set.
This is what I ate Gumbo (my first time trying it), and Crab stuffed shrimp.  So good!
This is the Handsome Cowboy I get to spend the rest of my life with!

The next day Jer had to go and take some physical exertion test, and then it was back on different airplanes to the same location.  I flew from Houston to Austin where I stayed on the play then flew from Denver to SLC, Jer returned the rental car and flew non-stop to SLC.  I was so happy that he got to come home for a bit, and felt a little silly for spending so much money to go hang out in Houston, but it was so much fun to spend time with my Jer.  We got into the SLC airport late and our brains were shot.  We were parked in the economy lot and to get out you just have to use the same credit card that you used to get in.  We couldn't remember which credit card we had used and Jer put the parking garage ticket we had used at the beginning of our trip, so we couldn't get out.  We had to go ask for help, but the lady working got all crazy!  "How you get ticket for 1st, today is not 1st!", "You park in wrong place!". "Today is 3rd, why you have ticket for 1st?"  I finally figured out that we had used the ticket from the 1st for the parking garage, and we should have just used my credit card.  So she ran our card and we were able to head home.  Jer is so nice and let me sleep while he drove, and we almost made it home without incident, but of course we had to hit a deer on the freeway near Green River.  We made it home about 4 am and slept until 8.  Jer went and got the kids from Jenny and Cades, because we had another adventure planned.  We have since hit some bumps in the road with  new job, but everything is finally falling into place, and Jer will be starting his new job on the 24th of July.  He will be going to training in Houston for two weeks, and part of me wants to take the kids to visit Dad, but then I read this post and I am tired.  So Jer will be on a jack up rig off the coast of Qatar.  I will not be going to visit  :(
